Just following my thoughts in the previous post about the importance of ratings for a show’s survival… what if Shakespeare or any other classic playwright or artist had to contend with ratings? Would we still have the symphonies, paintings, and plays that we have today?
Or would they all have been cancelled in pre-production, in favor of whatever else was just popular at the time?
Gawd… what would happen if someone sends a Terminator back in time to the 70s, and introduces reality TV at that point? It’s a scary notion and I’m going to get off this train of thought now!
